Number of Years Coaching CrossFit: 10+

Athletic Background:

In my younger years I played organized Soccer, Baseball and Football.  As I grew older I continued to play Soccer and Baseball, but added disorganized Football, Street Hockey, Golf and Basketball.  I find myself enjoying CrossFit more and more because it fills the athletic and competitive void without playing traditional sports.

What is your favorite thing about being a coach at Method CrossFit?

The athletes I interact with on a daily basis.  I love helping people understand their athletic potential and watch them grow and achieve things they never thought possible.  Plus it’s cool that I get to bring my dog to “work.”

What is one of the things you would put on your CrossFit “bucket” list?

I’ve been fortunate enough to cross off so many, but one more would be to Snatch 100kg.

Who is your favorite elite CrossFitter and why?

Zach Forrest.  He moves with efficiency, seeks virtuousity and displays humble integrity.  He is always striving for the best in himself, his athletes and his gym.  Plus he’s a nerd and I can relate.

Number of Years Coaching CrossFit: 4

Athletic Background:

I started rock climbing when I was about 13 with my cousin Adam who is a member at Method now with his wife Isabel.  That was really the only thing I ever did before finding CrossFit.  Once I started CrossFitting, I immediately became most interested in the Olympic lifts.  Snatch and clean and jerk.  I have done several weightlifting competitions and will continue to do so.

What is your favorite thing about being a coach at Method CrossFit?

My favorite part about coaching at Method is the community.  The people are all friendly and encourage each other to strive for greatness.  It's just a giant gym full of close friends.  It doesn't take long for the new members to get sucked right into the friendships, horseplay, and just downright fun we all like to have.  It's just an adult playground of fitness.

What is one of the things you would put on your CrossFit “bucket” list?

I'm not sure about a CrossFit bucket list.  But my fitness bucket lists includes a 275lb snatch and a 315lb clean and jerk.  White lights, of course!

Who is your favorite elite CrossFitter and why?

Jason Kahlipa.  I really don't think anybody has more "try hard" in them than Kahlipa.  Just go watch "Amanda" at the 2010 Games.  You'll see what I mean.  Always smiling and always sick after every WOD.
